How we cut metal

Depending on the metal in question, we will cut lengths on either our band saws, bundle saw, or CNC machines. For sheet metal like aluminium sheet, we’ll use a guillotine.

Your choice of size

You will be able to choose both the size and thickness in your online order. When checking out, simply add your instructions to the relevant box on the shopping car page. From here, just tell us if you need any offcuts, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Our free metal cutting service is for basic metals. As an example, if you were looking to get a 4-metre length cut down into 2-metre lengths – this is what we would classify as basic cutting. As such, it can be done with no charge! However, sometimes you might need more specialist cutting tools and techniques.

Fortunately, our expertise extends beyond just our free metal cutting service. We also provide a range of more specialised cutting services. We have several options and can advise you on the right tool for your project. Here is a look at what we offer:

Laser cutting

Laser cutting can be used to cut either metal sheet or plate to the size and/or design you’re looking for. Equipped with our Bystronic Byspeed 3015 4.4kW laser, you’ll get expert cuts at an affordable price point.

Plasma cutting

If you need something more complex, we also offer a plasma cutting service. If you’ve not heard of this before, it is a cutting method that uses ionized gas to cut thicker lengths of metal. However, it can be also used on sheet metal depending on your needs. Simply send us your design or CAD files as well as any additional details, and we’ll be able to get back to you with a quick quote.

Mitre cutting

If you need more specific angles for your metal, then you might be interested in our mitre cutting service. Mitre cutting is perfect for awkward shapes such as tube, channel, and angle, with the most common angle being 45 degrees. We will use our expert knowledge and appropriate saws to offer specialized and clean mitre cuts.
