Electrophoretic coating or painting is an industrial process which uses an electric field to deposit particles of paint onto a material, usually metal fabricated products. This provides a consistent coating which is non-porous, is generally more environmentally friendly than alternative processes and also enables the insides of the clamps to be coated as well as the outside. The coating is water based and non-toxic which dries smooth. The result is a smooth, semi-gloss finish. We would recommend that these clamps are only used indoors with our "Black" 33.7mm external diameter mild steel tube. Please note this tube is not the same finish as the clamps but is the closest match available without having the tubes powder coated.
